Dudley Does Dallas

Dudley Does Dallas is a comedy series concept created by Director and Writer, Chris Evans, and Producer, Steve Powers. It follows the events of a man named Dudley as he ventures into the unknown and taboo areas of life in order to make a better living for himself. It is loosely based on the life experiences of its creator Chris, and draws inspiration from elements of the adult entertainment industry. Evans and Powers, Co-founders of production company Rogue Baboon, conceived and filmed a section of the pilot in Kidderminster, UK. ‘The humour is a lot like that of Inbetweeners and Peep Show’ Lead actor Stuart Ash, who plays Dudley, stated in an interview. ‘The way [Chris] has written the characters means they are naturalistic but there are elements of farcical to them as well.’

In collaboration with Rogue Baboon, FootFox Productions attended the recording of Dudley Does Dallas’ (DDD) Pilot venture. Rogue Baboon hopes to obtain crowdfunding in order to build a strong enough pilot to push their unique content towards a mass audience through a venture into TV.

DDD’s current casting features actors such as Callum Donaghy, Gary Calandro, and the aforementioned Stuart Ash. The cast was extremely invested and interested in the production from the outset and on set the energy was high from start to finish. A group lunch signalled the day had wrapped up and discussions regarding the future of the show pointed to some very promising leads and tactical marketing. Rogue Baboon hopes to turn DDD’s pilot into a non-episodic comedy series spanning several seasons as to ensure Dudley’s story is done justice and given as much detail as possible. ‘The inspiration for Dudley Does Dallas came from the two jobs I was doing at the time. I was an aspiring film maker… and at the same time i was making a real living working at a supermarket. At the time [as a film maker] I was getting jobs on porn shoots and I was kind of working as a runner on those’ Chris stated during an interview just after filming had finished for that day’s scene.
